blogging

Welcome to the new home of Work in Progress!

Yup, I have created another blog on top of the two I update regularly.

http://nathanandmarieke.wordpress.com

I designed it to keep family and friends updated on what’s up as Nathan and I get ready and move to San Francisco. I’m gonna start by giving info on our preparations (apartment hunting, visiting the schools and whatnot) and then what comes up after we move. Hopefully both of us will update it, depending on what’s going on.

(I also have an option for people who want to get the info via email if that’s easier for ya.)

I will still be regularly updating this blog and “Raining Grace” through the summer, and hopefully beyond since these are more personal ones.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I’m working on simplifying and streamlining my life at the moment. That’s translated to my blog here as well.

I’m most likely going to do a series of posts on my other blog, and since some of my readers here might want to see what’s up on my other blog, I added a feed under “about me” to you can see what’s going on over there. There might be some posts that really could fit in either of my blogs, but the other one needs a little love as you can see haha!

I might eventually just combine my blogs, but for now, this should work.

To finish off this post, I leave you with this:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yes, I lied. I started another project (the mesh bag pattern on the Sugar & Cream wrapper thingie). But in my defense, it is for my mom for mother’s day. And it worked up REALLY fast. And it’s crocheted, so it could be said I didn’t lie (Ok, that’s another lie). I’m nearly done with the mesh part (one or two more rounds), and then I just have the top edge and the handle to finish. I’ll put a few things in the bag when I give it to her (like chocolate).

Here’s another picture so you can see it in all it’s glory:

It feels good to be working on a crochet project again. My poor neglected crochet hooks. *sigh*

This blog is kind of my “fun” blog. I post here most often (partly since I have more readers, haha!), and because it’s fun to share the little things of life (namely knitting and crocheting).

But, I also have a blog where I post more about my deeper thoughts, many of them related to God or my relationship with Him.

You can find it here: RainingGrace

I just wanted to share in case anyone wants to know. Also, next Wednesday, Jan 10th, I am going to be participating in a “Synchronized blogging” event coordinated by Phil Wyman (a pastor of a church in Salem, MA). Basically, a bunch of bloggers are going to post their thoughts on a particular issue. This one is on Spiritual Warfare. Both Phil and John Smulo (another pastor/teacher that I’ve discovered through Blogdom) have posted thoughts on the issue recently, as have I.

I’d love to get feedback from more people on my “Deep” blog :)

I thought of a name! It’s very suiting considering how many projects I often have partially completed at one point in time.

Also, more personally and *deep*, I am a work in progress myself, still being shaped and molded into the woman God created me to be, so it fits both me personally and me as a crocheter.

*drum roll please*

Introducing…

Work in Progress

Yippee! *clap, clap, clap*

Ok, so in the overhaulin’ of this blog, I’m thinking it needs a new name and I can’t think of one.

I need suggestions!! If you’ve got one, please comment!!

Ok, so the wedding madness is over. We’ve gone on our honeymoon. No major events till the holidays! Woot!!

I still have thank you notes to send out and we’re anxiously awaiting our wedding pictures, but for all intents and purposes, we now have a normal life again (well, except that we’re MARRIED!).

Anywhoodle, I’m starting to get back into some of my old hobbies that fell by the wayside. I’ve read more books in the last couple months than I have in probably the last year (not counting wedding-related stuff). Our schedule is pretty clear at this point, so I’ve decided to start getting myself out there a bit more. I’ve gotten together with one of my best friends, hung out with both my sisters on separate occasions (in the space of one week! unheard of!), and I’ve even managed to be Suzy Domestic and have had lots of fun cooking (and not as much fun cleaning up/neatening up the apartment).

Anyway, my point is…life is changing and I’m feeling like this blog needs a little bit of an overhaul.

Lately I’ve been getting the crocheting bug again (I have a blanket I’ve been working on for maybe a year or two now that I never got finished), and decided to either a) join or b) start a crochet group. Thankfully, I found one already in existence that meets regularly.

So tonight, I’m gonna be meeting the SB Knitters group (crocheters and spinners included) at a local coffee shop!! YAY! I’m so excited to make some new real life friends. Lately, all the new people I’ve been meeting have been online and as awesome as they are, I need some real life people. It sounds like a really great, diverse group and I am so excited!!

Finally, I am going to start posting pictures of my works in progress, as well as my finished projects (unless they are a Christmas present for anyone who may read this, LOL).

It’s been so long, I nearly forgot the website to log in! Sorry to anyone still actually checking my blog every once in a while. I’m lame. I know.

I’ll post more later on, hopefully, but for now, here are some wedding pictures!!

We’re still waiting to see the professional ones, so I don’t have any links to those yet or anything.

We’re leaving for our honeymoon on Sunday and will be gone for a week (yes, it got delayed….due to illness).

Anyway, I will try to post more when we get back!
